Babz and Karaoke

Hey Chicos!

Just wanted to update y'all! I really hate when I say y'all...I don't know how or when I started saying it, but it has been bothering me lately. I'm not from the South so it is quite disturbing...ANYWAY...

I have been meaning to get my mom back on my channel for some time now and we finally ended up filming something. I called her up while she was at work and was just like "WE ARE FILMING WHEN YOU GET HOME". She responded "OK! my hair looks good today". Now you all know where I get it from. This is what we ended up discussing...


Also, last Saturday I ended up going to NYC to meet up with some other youtubers for the day. At first I met up with @petrilude while we waited for @thewillofdc and @soundlyawake to get their shit together and meet us at Bubba's for lunch. I love that we went to that restaurant and 3 out of 4 of us don't even like/eat seafood. I just got a burger or at Chile's they call it the OLDTIMER...ew...and then they ask you to "top" the oldtimer ... no thanks... I digress...we wanted to sit in @loserluigi's section so we asked for "yeison", because that is his name. I guess the host thought we said "jason" so we end up getting sent to the back of the restaurant with some guy named Jason. It was really awkward because the guy probably heard that we "requested" to be in his section. Oh well...
After that, Nick and Will had to pick up some pottery somewhere far away so I tagged along with Josh on his search for Ben Nye and 50% off jewelry. We first went to this place called Alcone. It was a little shop with 3 women gossiping behind the counter. Then, in walks (slides) an old woman with a walker. Fine, fine...but what's giving me a red rump is that she was wearing more eye makeup than @juicystar07 and @allthatglitters21 put together. Turns out the old woman was just picking up some makeup wipes...ho should've at least purchased the large pack...
After that we hit up a bunch of jewelry shops that promoted their 50% sale (today only) on their windows and most of their interior walls. Turns out that they have that sale every day of the year. They have a decal of the sale on the window so it's not like they can take it down when the sale is over the "next day".
At this point my phone battery was about 60% depleted and it was only around 5 pm. I somehow had to make that last til 4 am so we decided to go to Starbucks and charge it up. We stuck around there for a while and then met up with some other peeps for karaoke!
We ended up going to this place called Duet where you reserve a private room and have your own little karaoke party. To see who ended up going check out the footage I compiled here...


Overall the day was pretty epic...except that I had to leave NYC at 1 am so that I could get home by 5 am so that I could work the same day...(which ended up being a disaster because it was Valentine's Day)

So that's about all the excitement I have had in the past week...

hey guys!

Just wanted to do a little update blog about my life. It is now going into the 5th week of my final semester and I cannot wait to be out of school. The past week I've had to get papers signed by like 3 people and then bring them to the degree auditor's office so that I can actually graduate. I also just got back from California. I had a free frequent flier ticket that my dad gave me about 4 years ago so I thought it was about time to use it. I went to visit Jess for the weekend and let me just say it was a big ole DP parade....a DP parade with 7 hours continuous Wii play.........that's all

Work has also been crazy! I was doing about 33 hours a week on top of school and traveling and such. I think I just need a break from stuff. Yesterday I slept 15 hours straight...who does that?! seriously? if you don't have mono, who the EFF does that?...right now I'm going on 22 hours being awake since I had to get up at 4 am to do some stuff before class yesterday! Yesterday was a weird day. A kid in front of me in class was on his computer and I did what every other person behind them does...look at what theyre doing on their computer...well he was signed into some AIM like account which showed a profile picture of himself. Fine...fine...but what's givin me a red rump is that I recognized that picture from one of my subscribers who always comments on my videos. Anyway...it was so weird that we converged with each other. He had actually noticed me in class the first day but didnt say anything...until I posted on his wall.

Besides that...I am gong to NYC this saturday ...so...see you there! lol

me: so in class today this guy was stalking someone on facebook and I was eavesdropping on his stalking...is that like second-hand stalking? cuz it felt just as good as real stalking

Dracula

hey guys! so my car is a black 1993 acura integra named Dracula...and it is a piece of crap. The heat only works on occasion and if i am really feeling cold i take my umbrella and pound under the dashboard to try and make it work.  Over the past 3 years it has been so finicky...ew finicky...am i 89 years old? wait yes, yes i am...anyway...in extreme climates (over 90 degrees or under 15) it decides not to start...we've taken it to the mechanic so many times but they can never fix it...so this morning i attempt to start it to go to work, but no...bitch does not wanna start...long story short, i text jenn (HAPPY BDAY!) asking if she could drive me...luckily she wasn't doing anything despite being her bday! So now i am on break at work for 1.5 hrs without a car...i need starbucks sooooo bad too! thought i'd blog and show you what i am eating for lunch...soo delish! loolol hope everyone is having a good day cuz mine SUCKS so far... at least tonight ill be going to jenn's to get wasted offa diet coke!!

Favorite American Idol Performances

Hey guys! so...as all of you know (lol) American Idol is starting up January 12th...and being the crazy idol FANATIC that I am (I once made a 45 slide powerpoint presentation on the first 3 seasons) I wanted to go through the first 8 seasons and pick out my favorite performance from each. THIS WAS VERY DIFFICULT FOR ME, BUT I WILL LIMIT MYSELF TO 1 PER SEASON. For copyright stuff, I can't post the videos here, but just search them on youtube!

Season 1: Tamyra Gray: "A House Is Not A Home"

Tamyra should have won...jussayin...I love me some oldschool Kelly, but girl needs to pull her shit together and pump out another record like THANKFUL! UGH

Season 2: Clay Aiken: "Bridge Over Trouble Waters"

Season 2 was tough for me because I loved Clay, Kimberley Locke, and Trenyce...but I think this performance won by a slight margin.

Season 3: Diana Degarmo: "Don't Cry Out Loud" (5/14/04 performance)

The last note and key change she does in this performance are AMAZING...I'm so sad that her cd was tragic

Season 4: Vonzell Solomon: "I Have Nothing"

Throw a Diva with a Whitney song and I can't resist...this was probably the best version of the song ever performed on idol! Second best would have to be Trenyce's then JHud's.

Season 5: Katharine Mcphee: "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" (Top 2 performance NOT Finale)

This performance was flawless...Taylor NEVER should have won...especially after this...UGH (I'm not still mad or anything...)

Season 6: Jordin Sparks: "I Who Have Nothing" (first performance)

Jordin is my all-time fave idol...she was SUPERB compared to the other contestants...the only other person that had a chance was Blake Lewis so thank gucci he got runner-up

Season 7: David Archuleta: "Imagine"

I'm not a fan of this song...but he made me like it for this performance...I hate that he is so young...he makes me jealous. ps...for the most part I wasn't a fan of the people in this season

Season 8: Adam Lambert: "Mad World"

All of Adam's performances were shockingly good compared to the other contestants...it wasn't until late in the competition that people started to somewhat compete with him...idk why he lost...

So OVERALL, my favorite idol performance EVER is Katharine's "Somewhere Over The Rainbow". Runner-up to that is "I Who Have Nothing" by Jordin. Both of these performances were on such a different level than the other contestants at the time and there was no doubt in my mind that these would be my faves for those seasons.
