Babz and Karaoke

Hey Chicos!

Just wanted to update y'all! I really hate when I say y'all...I don't know how or when I started saying it, but it has been bothering me lately. I'm not from the South so it is quite disturbing...ANYWAY...

I have been meaning to get my mom back on my channel for some time now and we finally ended up filming something. I called her up while she was at work and was just like "WE ARE FILMING WHEN YOU GET HOME". She responded "OK! my hair looks good today". Now you all know where I get it from. This is what we ended up discussing...


Also, last Saturday I ended up going to NYC to meet up with some other youtubers for the day. At first I met up with @petrilude while we waited for @thewillofdc and @soundlyawake to get their shit together and meet us at Bubba's for lunch. I love that we went to that restaurant and 3 out of 4 of us don't even like/eat seafood. I just got a burger or at Chile's they call it the OLDTIMER...ew...and then they ask you to "top" the oldtimer ... no thanks... I digress...we wanted to sit in @loserluigi's section so we asked for "yeison", because that is his name. I guess the host thought we said "jason" so we end up getting sent to the back of the restaurant with some guy named Jason. It was really awkward because the guy probably heard that we "requested" to be in his section. Oh well...
After that, Nick and Will had to pick up some pottery somewhere far away so I tagged along with Josh on his search for Ben Nye and 50% off jewelry. We first went to this place called Alcone. It was a little shop with 3 women gossiping behind the counter. Then, in walks (slides) an old woman with a walker. Fine, fine...but what's giving me a red rump is that she was wearing more eye makeup than @juicystar07 and @allthatglitters21 put together. Turns out the old woman was just picking up some makeup wipes...ho should've at least purchased the large pack...
After that we hit up a bunch of jewelry shops that promoted their 50% sale (today only) on their windows and most of their interior walls. Turns out that they have that sale every day of the year. They have a decal of the sale on the window so it's not like they can take it down when the sale is over the "next day".
At this point my phone battery was about 60% depleted and it was only around 5 pm. I somehow had to make that last til 4 am so we decided to go to Starbucks and charge it up. We stuck around there for a while and then met up with some other peeps for karaoke!
We ended up going to this place called Duet where you reserve a private room and have your own little karaoke party. To see who ended up going check out the footage I compiled here...


Overall the day was pretty epic...except that I had to leave NYC at 1 am so that I could get home by 5 am so that I could work the same day...(which ended up being a disaster because it was Valentine's Day)

So that's about all the excitement I have had in the past week...

nyquil blackouts

hey hey! so...im blogging again from my phone while under the influence of nyquil...the last time i did this i didnt remember that i had blogged...lol...i really need to work on my alcohol tolerance so i dont black out from 30 mL of nyquil...

anyway...hope everyone had a good christmas or whatever holiday you celebrate! i got some clothes and giftcards but that is about it...what did you get?? anything exciting that i need to get?? i hope to make some videos this week after i get my hair cut...cuz i almost have a mullet...but you guys really need to comment and say MAKE VIDEOS HO cuz i tend to get lazy when im working so much...

end of an era

hey guys! so... today i finished the last of my finals for the semester! i kind of bombed all of them but at this point i just want to graduate! hope everyone did well on theirs, but now is the time for major holiday shopping...i may post some good specials i kno bout...other than that, i will be posting more vids since im home now and am not even working that much...hope i come up with some good ideas...if u want to collab propose an idea to me and see if itll work!

Youtube Gathering

SO as you probably know, I went to the youtube gathering in New York City yesterday. Since I didn't take much footage from the event, I stalked other youtubers' videos and found these 2 that I was part of! check them out!





I met a bunch of new people who I'd love to see again and even collaborate with in the future. It really refreshed my LOVE for creating content on the site. (hopefully I will post more, but school is still being a raging BITCH lol)

Green Screen

HEY!!! I finally set up my green screen and tested out what I can do with it!! So far I have just played around with the different kinds of backgrounds I can insert...but there are soooo many more things that I need play with...;)


Here is my set-up...I have lights on the right and left sides of the screen which are used to evenly light the screen. Then I have a light that I put right in front of me...this is why I wear my sunglasses a lot lol

YOUTUBE FAIL

What's FRESH everyone!?!? I am in desperate need of chanel...I mean...inspiration. I feel bad that I have not been very active in making "interesting" videos lately. But if you are a youtuber you know that it's sooo difficult to come up with ideas sometimes. Then suddenly one day something will happen or you'll see a commercial and it'll give you this AMAZING idea. I just haven't had that recently. I think my mind is more active during the school year as a way to procrastinate, so during the summer it's almost an inconvenience to think of ideas. Now don't get me WRONG, i LOVE making videos...i do NOT like coming up with ideas. I have been meaning to make this one video for the longest time...no joke I came up with the idea back in April...it just hasn't happened yet...

Does anyone have advice on what to do when you can't think of ideas?! Do you just FORCE yourself to sit down and think of something, or do you just give up? lol

Oh...and I'm kind of getting bored with the youtubers I am watching...if anyone knows of any lesser known people thatm ake good videos let me know!!!!

ps. my summer class is a bitch...it's so anoying to drive 30 mins to go to a 3.25 hour class 2 times a week. The only thing I look forward to is Starbucks afterward...

So I thought I should grace everyone with another SPLASH of mallow610...outside of the bedroom........anyway...

I have been obsessed with these 2 videos lately. They are CLASSICS in my book. The first one is a short clip from a horror movie but it is insanely hilarious.

I can't help but notice that the lighting in that room is coming from like 4 different angles and there is a venetian blind shadow on all the walls...the cinematography is so divine... And now next time your friend gets a text just say "i see you have a new message..." with a huge awkward silence after it and see if they don't think you're insane. Oh... and ya... 2 FUCKING YEARS...

When I grow up I want to be just like Fash and be able to control desperate over-dramatic tranny-humans at the touch of my bony stiff hand. And I have no idea who that diva is, but now whenever I'm out at the store I randomly yell ESTO ERES TU!!!! ....FUISTE TU....FUISTE TUUUUUU! at different items...nobody gets it but oh well...I'm used to looking crazy...

789 (7/11/09)

AH THE BIG DAY HAS ARRIVED!!! This when everyone met up and basically orgasmed all over central park. There was SO much fan-girling going on I couldn't handle it. OK let me just say that IJUSTINE WAS NOT THERE...now that I got that off my chest I can continue...

We got to central park around 12:30 pm in full hair and makeup...there were already a bunch of people there. Michael Buckley had a large crowd of gurliees around him as did Smoshian. It was kind of awkward at first because you didn't really know what to do. Like should you go up to everyone and ask who they are? or do you just kind of wander to people you know and ask them to do a photoshoot with you. I mostly did the latter... However it kind of made my day when I was just randomly looking around recording and Michael Buckley calls me out for me to come over and meet him. The group of fangirls parted like the red sea as I made my way over to him...ok, well maybe it wasn't that dramatic but I did push them out of my way. I got my pic with him and he was quickly taken over by the group of fan girls again.

I basically wandered around for the next 3 hours. I met MEGHANTONJES who came up to me SCREAMING ...thank GOD I was recording during that too lol I also met Deena (beanerlarue). I have been a huge fan of her videos from the beginning and was kind of fan-boying her. The pic we took was sooo ferosh. (pics int he next blog) OH I didn't really see colormekristin that much today...we met the first 2 days, she was so much fun and like attacked me in Times sqaure one night...but ya I wish I spent more time with her! Let me just say that Kristin (kristinsaine) is amazing. Freaking...i dont even know...she's just so hyper and bubbly I can't even stand it. Will (thewillofdc) was so much fun too!! GET OUTTTT!!!! lol and Andrea (aiadriano) was prob the 2nd fiercest person there...after Deena of course ;) Courtney (courtneyanna) was quite fierce herself...I wish I could've spent more time with all of them too. AH we need another gathering like NOWWWWW...I think the hardest part about the weekend was that if everyone was together it would be almost impossible to decide on things to do...

So until about 4 pm we just mingled and fan-girled different people...it was so much fun you don't even know...the number of people there was insane...there must have been around 600 at least. I don't even know how to explain it either. If you have never been to one you should really try and make it to the next one. Even if you do not post videos it is still so much fun. Just bring a couple of friends and have tons of photoshoots with everyone. Ok I don't even know what else to say...I'm not much of a writer lol...

That night Stevie and Joe came over to our hotel room along with Michael (hartz) and we all gossiped for a few hours...we didn't end up going to bed til like 4am again and had to be up at 8 so that we could get to ehte train station in time.

Ok that is enough writing...I will now post some pictures of the weekend.

789 (7/10/09)

Friday was a little more eventful. I think we (Sam, Andy, Tom, Jess and myself) woke up around 10 and left to head to Columbus circle for 12. Nobody was really there so we left to go shopping :) We hit up 5th ave., didn't really buy anything though. Wow this blog is turning out to be quite lame. I thought I would have more to write about...but anyway...we ate at Rockefeller and decided to hit up SoHo before we met the other youtubers at 6 pm. I have to say Top Man is a very interesting store. I either liked their sstuff a lot or HATED it with a passion. I can't really see myself wearing too much of it though. I bought a v-neck at uniqlo and 2 trunks at Top Man. That was the extent of my purchases for the weekend. It was really sad that I didn't buy more, but I always feel that since we have most of the stores back home I can just buy it there. We also hit up Magnolia and I watched as Tom ate his cupcakes...I can't have them cuz I'm allergic to peanuts :( We ended up filming a lot down in SoHo so look forward too MANY videos from this weekend. This blog is a mess...I'm over it.

Later at night we ate at TGI Friday's which was insanely expensive...never eat IN times square...after that we met up with Michael (hartzproductions) and headed to the Belvedere to hang out with thewillofdc's fan club ;) I think we ended up goign to bed at like 4 am...oh well...I barely slept at all the whole weekend...

789 Youtube Gathering (7/9/09)

Hey guys!!! This past weekend was sooooo exciting, exhausting, interesting, scary, fun, delicious and life changing. If you didn't know, I went to the youtube gathering in New York City from Thursday (7/9/09) until Sunday (7/12/09). I figured I will make a few separate blogs for each of the days and then one for just pictures so it is easier to read. So here is what we did on 7/9/09...

Tom (talltom14) , Joey (@joeyjawcut) and I picked up Jess (jstevens428) from the airport in the morning and made it to NYC at about 2 pm. Jess was so much fun right off the bat and it was not even awkward meeting her. I think that blogtv made it so much easier to interactive with everyone IRL. So we met up with Sam (samthereforeiam) and Andy (nanooboy) soon after and checked into the W Hotel! It was sooo hot. The lobby was always full of hot people dressed in suits and little black dresses. But when we got to the room, we looked over at the bathroom and saw that the door and walls to the bathroom were frosted glass and that you could see the silhouette of the person using it on the glass. This was a little awkward, but luckily there was another bathroom in the lobby. They should really warn u about things like these.

After that we headed to Chipotle to get something to eat. As I was in the bathroom there, Jeffrey (kooljeffrey), Kristin (kristinsaine), Will (thewillofdc), and Andrea (aiadriano) walked in too. I come out of the bathroom and basically freak out and am in shock that we would happen to be eating at the same place in NYC at the same time. But ya that was fun. I will post pics in another blog.

After that we headed to Columbus Circle where we met up with some other youtubers...I actually don't really remember what happened, except that we had pinkberry afterward.

At night we ended up going over to the Belvedere and hung out with the bitches and gossiped for a few hours :)

The first dat was pretty laid back. It was sooo much fun meeting everyone and like I said before it really wasn't awkward at all. It felt like we already had been IRL friends for years.

I never ended up going to the beach the other day... My friends were planning on drinking there and I am NOT into drinking and driving...even if it is only 1 drink...on holidays I always force my mom to let me drive home even though it has been hours since she finished the drink.

Sorry I haven't blogged! AHH All I have been doing in working the past 765432 days. The money has been decent on the weekends but during the week it is tragic. They had me hosting tonight after they cut me off the floor cuz there was drama within te hosting staff...whatever I stayed til like 11:30 and got paid more money than I normally get paid...

I bought the computer game SPORE the other day and am totally confused by its complexity so far. I'm sure I will get used to it but right now there are just SOOOO many things you can do...I'm not sure if I am a fan of it yet though

I haven't had time to film a video either...I am failing so much! I really did not expect to be working this much. I have Thursday off so hopefully I will be able to film, go shopping, clean the house and do whatever else I need to do in 1 day... Maybe I should stop staying up til 5 am so I don't sleep til 2 then have to go to work at 5. I haven't even been online that much lately either. I feel so disconnected! I checked my twitter for the first time in 2 days and I had so many @replies I felt bad I had not replied to some of them...but then 2 days later it's just like eh what's the point now...

Only a little over a month until 789!!! AHH WHO IS EXCITED!??!?!?!? I still haven't told my mom and my brother's birthday is the 11th so hopefully he won't come home...cuz I won't be there...

I'm not sure what else I have to update you on...if I think of anything I will be sure to post it...obviously I havent been going anywhere so I haven't taken pictures for you guys! SORRY!!!#$##
